My Journal: Sunday, October 19, 2008
Well, unfortunately the website is still having some of it's hiccups and I can't upload pics to my galleries. Let's see if I can paste them in my post.

Session #1: Arapahoe Basin (10/18/08) The first session of the season! And now in Colorado! Awesome! Regularly I'll be doing this the first weekend of November in the Midwest and driving 2 and a half hours to Ski Brule for just one run of 20 sec. Here it was a nice 75 min drive and the run at A-Basin, was like 3 times the one at Marquette. I mean it was just one run but it will take me 4 to 6 minutes to get down! I was there for first chair and the first 3 runs I got in the singles lines without waiting at all. There probably was around 1,000 people in the first 3 hours but that number easily increased to 3,000 by 11:30. The second wave brought too many beginners falling in the middle of the run, the snow was tracked and with icy spots and the wait on the lift line was about 10 to 15 min... So I took my 8 runs and went home a happy rider after a good first session.

so how many days do you have in thus far?

My season starts Dec. 6th unless for some freakish reason DH opens before Thanksgiving week. We were supposed to get our 1st snow last night but I think it all passed further north. I'm excited for some snow!!!

Erik!! You missed an awesome pants party (Abe's b-day)! If you didn't see Amy's pictures you should ask her to send you the link. I know you were having your own fun though, your season has started! You might have to come back sometime over the summer though so you can hang out with "the crew" again.

Well, my board is all set up with dialed bindings and sharp edges. I didn't get to hot wax it but it should be okay.

Wish me luck! I'll upload some pics and vids tomorrow night!

After carefully reviewing my riding situation this year Norway did seem to be the best choice in terms of distance and money. If it wasn't for Collin telling me how awesome the park was when they finally got it set up I might have gone another direction. I hope they get it set up earlier this year. I think you know Justin and Beef. They are getting a season pass there as well. Well be filling out our paperwork this weekend. I was waiting for this weeks check. $$$ lol

Sounds good Lauren, we have to represent SB.com! We'll post some pics and videos so the crew in Madison can get pumped about the upcoming season.

Julie, are you driving from MO to CO? Sounds good, so I have you written in our calendar for staying with us on Saturday 17th and Sunday 18th. We should do Breck or Keystone on Sat, Vail on Sun and the Beave on Mon.

it'll probably be late Friday the 16th. I'll probably just stay with my brother in Castle Rock, 30 seconds from my old house!!!! then drive up Sat. morning.
I'm not allowed to take a day off work next to a holiday, so can't take any extra time. Then I've got the 3-hour drive to the airport, that kills me!!

I don't think Abe's even been online or at least not on this site in a couple days. Dunno if I'll talk to him tonight since I've got a crapload of stuff to do before I go to bed, but I'll tell him about the mini-forum.
