It would have been its first year in Australia, but a disagreement with the Organizers of Air and Style Sydney has lead Shaun White and his team to cancel the world famous snow sports themed Festival.

An announcement via Facebook this week confirmed that the Sydney leg of the Air and Style festival tour was to be completely cancelled due to “circumstances beyond our control” says White.

We had partnered with a company that we believed shared our vision and values, but ultimately they did not. -Shaun White via Facebook-

The Australian organizers Moore Snow Sports, a subsidiary of Moore Sports International, have now gone into liquidation as they leave thousands of hopeful festival goers dissapointed.

Tickets will be fully refunded through Moshtix and we plan on returning in the future with a stellar event. -Shaun White via Facebook-

Fortunately, White has confirmed that all tickets will be refunded via Moshtix, but the question remains, what went so wrong that the entire festival needed to be cancelled? We reached out to Moore Sports International for a statement but, as of yet, have not received a reply, while the Australian Air and Style website still remains down.

The Festival lineup included musical acts Snow Patrol and Flo Rida along with Snowboarding superstars Mark McMorris, Red Gerard.

EDIT: According to some ticket holders comments on the Air and Style Facebook page the refunds that were promised by Moshtix have started failing, as Moore Snow Sports goes into liquidation it may become harder for punters to get their money back. Let’s hope the organizers decide to do the right thing by the fans and that this whole deal doesn’t turn into a finger pointing legal debacle!
